Unless you're unlucky enough to have a child who admits to saying one thing, and meaning the other, or saying contrary things just for their own amusement.
In that case a parent would be unsure what the child really wanted to do, and may end up in a strait jacket in a padded cell, slowly rocking themselves backwards and forwards.
