The 4 or 5 others who were with him, including a couple of Accrington Stanley players, pleaded guilty to affray..........but not Steven Gerrard, he probably knew if he went on trial he would get off so why admit it?

They wouldn't hold the Soham trial in Cambridgeshire as it was considered to be impossible to find a jury who could be impartial. It had to be done at the Old Bailey with the jury drawn from that area.

So, why was the Gerrard case heard at Liverpool Crown Court?

Not that I am comparing Steven Gerrard to Ian Huntley of course, just wondering why they would hear the case in Liverpool with a jury from Liverpool in a case against one of their idols.
