YES IT WAS AGAINST THE RULES and if you break the rules then you get punished. You say it doesn't matter so much to you, well it bloody well should do.

These were repeated deliberate breaches of The Football Association’s betting rules which are vital to maintain confidence in the integrity of the game.

offences by a Club Captain and therefore must be punished by a substantial period of suspension of eight months together with a fine of £3,500.”
It doesn't say he has been banned for the Bury one it says
'These are serious offences' which mean there was more than one offence.
