Nick Clarke was born in 1952. Educated at Accrington Grammar School in the sixties and later at Accrington Art College, he then took up a seven year apprenticeship as a commercial lithographic artist. Maritime art has always been paramount and he has painted all types of water borne craft. Subjects range from a simple cobble to a large panorama of the RMS Queen Mary arriving at her final destination in the USA - one of many commissions of various types resulting from various exhibitions of his paintings over the years, including at the Royal Society of Marine Artists in 2005 and 2006.
