Jonesey is an 'owd romantic - in some ways, just like myself. He has an idea in mind of a hall packed with men wearing dirty grey gabardine raincoats and cloth caps on their heads, smoking pipes (or if they're lucky, Woodbines), waving trade Union banners emblazoned with words such as 'Accy & District Shuttle bashers & Snotdyers Union (No 6 Branch)' and 'Workers & Wastrels of the World Unite' while all the time being seranaded by a brass band led chorus of 'The Internationale.'

He makes a tub thumping speech..then arguments rage...bun fights break out...innocent fascists are beaten up and thrown out of windows. A mysterious woman by the name of Buckley rises to speak, but she is soon silenced and disappears....then Jonesey is carried high on the shoulders of his adoring comrades, out into the street as the mass proletariat break into a spontaneous outburst of 'The Red Flag.'
