There’s a buzz in the air at the Crown Ground this week after Accrington Stanley’s fundraising boxing event raised a grand total of
£28,754.78. The proceeds will be in aid of the Leonard Cheshire Disability, a charity that supports many thousands of disabled people to live life their way. There are six Leonard Cheshire Disability services within 18 miles of Accrington Stanley’s hallowed turf.
Proceeds will also be in aid of Accrington Stanley’s Development Fund, a new scheme with objectives to advance current ventures and projects, focusing purely on the stadium and facilities to ensure resources are suitable for use and meet the exacting requirements of the Football League, and
Almost 300 guests attended the evening, which was held at the Dunkenhalgh Spa & Hotel. This is the first event of such magnitude to be held by the Club and apparently won’t be the last. The team that organised the event have expressed their gratitude to all the sponsors, business partners and guests and are confident that the success of the night was a true sentiment of the support for Accrington Stanley Football Club.
