Roots
I know that it's rather dated now considering it was first released way back in 1977, but Alex Hayleys "Roots" still has a watchable quality about it. I say this as I sat & watched it yesterday afternoon/evening on true movies rather than the football.
I can remember watching it as a youngster on Sunday nights (we were allowed to stay up) Although somewhat twee & with occasional bias I must admit to becoming engrossed all over again.
The only other film I've seen were Black Actors/Actresses take all the major roles & portray the difficulties & prejudices that black folk have had to face was the BBC's recent offering of "Small Island" by Andrea Levy, another thought provoking & engrossing piece of viewing I'd recommend to all who would state tolerance as being high on their list of ideals.
