They dont have solid ceramic plates for a start. They are aluminium with brown stuff on them. the plastic that holds the plates in place is poor and goes brittle in time.
The new pink ones are worse. The cases appear quite fragile. I know someones who fell from the dressing tables onto the carpet floor and the cracked very badly. Not what you expect for well over £100

I was expecting them to be better quality in terms of feel as well, but in terms of my hair they are definitely better than cheap hair straighteners so I'm not entirely sure what it is that makes them so great. I've had sturdier feeling straighteners that just don't get the same result. It's strange. I'm going to be very careful with mine
