Not on the same subject, though it does concern our criminal justice system, I'll post this here.
Watching the television news last night, there was a report about the woman who stabbed M.P. Stephen Timms, because he'd voted in favour of invading Iraq, in 2003.
What I found outrageous was that she wasn't in court because she 'didn't recognise the British justice system.'
Fair enough, she has the right not to defend her actions, but as the case was committed in Britain, and she is a British citizen, I'd have dragged her kicking and screaming, and if necessary, handcuffed to the dock.

Strangely, at the time of the atack, her father was in receipt of welfare benefits, after being made unemployed. He obviously recognises the state, and all that it can offer, including the education of his children, including his daughter.

If people living here, neither like our democratic system, and our sovreign state, they know where the door is.
I'm sure there are lots of caves in the Middle East where people such as Roshonara Choudhrywould feel much happier.
