I've just stuck a dozen photos of the 1951 carnival on my site Gremlin and they were all taken on Whalley Banks pretty close to the Pump House. You can see the pub in a couple of the photos. Mind you it's the older pub. I'm not sure when it was demolished and the later Pump House built (late 50's maybe?). The later pub has just been demolished a couple of weeks ago.
I was still at junior school in 1967 ;-)
