Re: A Stanley Shirt 'Made in Accrington.'

As earlier posters mentioned not enough Stanley shirts sell to make a viable business out of that alone. If you were to setup a shirt/kit company that had other revenue streams (other club kits / maybe other commercial lines) than that could work. But I'd imagine it would take many years to reach a level where Stanley were willing to trust you with their kit contract.

I think the best option if you wanted a local company to produce them would be to approach an existing company and suggest it. There are still a few textiles / clothing firms around - Simon Jersey/ is a big local one.

But honestly, aside from having a label saying 'Made In accrington' (which is nice in terms of local pride), I don't think having them produced locally would have any benefits. Quite the opposite in fact; at least initially. Stanley shirt sales wouldn't be high enough to create many (if any) new jobs or skills. And bigger or specialist manufacturers will almost always be able to create a better shirt for cheaper.

Sorry to put a downer on your idea pal. I'm all for supporting local businesses - but the idea as it stands doesn't work in practicality in my opinion.
