facebook were asked by child protection agencies to have an alert button clearly at the top of each page as reporting perverts etc is extreemly difficult even if you are familiar with the site.Adults struggle to figure out how to navigate the help section nevermind children but facebook strongly opposed any improvement to making their site safer for children.Also facebook will not allow parents who are worried about their childs activity access to their childrens accounts on the grounds of privacey yet we are resposible for our childrens safety until they are 18 years of age which facebook does not recognise.

there are ways and means to check what is going on and some kids are responsible enough to know the dangers but there are some who dont and facebook point blank reuses to protect them.

sex offenders are supposedly not allowed facebook accounts but i have reported a local convicted rapist and a local convicted pedophile twice and facebook have let them keep their accounts.

anyway most here seem to have it covered but for those unaware of facebooks lack of protection for children i hope this thread has opened their eyes a little to facebooks awfull level of help should somthing happen
