Not condoning in any way, but surely if it was deliberate the chap would have gone down? My view was that he deliberately tried to block off Rooney, Rooney moved to his left and raised his arm but as they got further apart ,the forearm hit the chaps ear and not his arm/shoulder. Good refereeing, as good as that for the New Zealander who was distracted from the game because of the earthquake.   |
Rooney used his elbow end of story, no ifs no buts he raised his arm in an off ball incident and any decent ref would have shown him an immediate Red Card, except the ref was United Pet Ref Clutterbucket, seem to remember it was the same ref who didn't see a ball hit the back of the net a couple of seasons ago in that game against Spurs, bet the Red Nosed one makes sure he gets a nice Chrissy Pressy every year, got to keep um sweet
