I totally agree Derek,
I spent thirty years in the chemical and hazardous liquid business driving tankers.
We had to attend many courses on safety and pass C&G exams.
It was stressed most strongly that you never allowed a naked flame,heat or spark to any enclosed vessel which had contained a flammable liquid. Even the most friendly liquids such as heavy oil can give off flammable gases when heated. Practical demonstrations were done using small models in laboratory setting with the utmost of safety.
