Re: eddie paynter
Perhaps I posted this in another thread, but there was a parade in Clayton to celebrate Paynter'S homecoming after his spectacular feat.
There was the young son of a minister in the crowd, and the car carrying Eddie was late. The boy grew very restless - so much so that he suddenly yelled out at the top of his voice:
"WHERE'S THIS BLOODY PAYNTER?"
True story. Told by many who attended.
