Most of the top scientists/engineers & the like were assimilated into various programmes of the allies (victors) after the war even the Russians made use of the technology & prisoners with skills that fell into their hands at the cessation of hostilities.

Admittedly those seconded by the western allies had a better deal of it than those taken by the Russians, but their speciality skills & knowledge saved them from facing charges at Nürnberg & probably the death penalty.
