Melbourne St
Taken when demolition was starting in preparation for the construction of Eastgate. Melbourne St continued beyond Avenue Parade as far as Stanley St then it became Pitt St.
Can`t remember name of Cafe.

Re: Melbourne St
I'm sure the cafe was open on Sunday mornings...when I was a kid ..we would go down the old market Sunday morn searching for coins from under the stalls.. not very rich pickings but we usually got enough to buy a spud pie and the worst gravy ever from the cafe on Melborne st.. (eeh up,times were ard in them days!)

If I remember correctly somewhere around half-way through 2004 the server accyweb was on had a severe crash, Roy spent quite some time attempting to recover data but as you can see, wasn't completely successful.
If you view any of the threads pre-that crash some smilies didn't appear correctly but more seriously than that although he managed to save the text, some, if not all of the piccys posted couldn't be saved.
In fact I've just remembered, while recovering data one of the other files that went to it's grave was the dates that each member joined, so a large number of us ended up with the same join date which was basically the first day after the crash, (just checked on mine Jan 2004).
Hope that explains it for you.
