It could be, though that wouldn't be in Ossy, and I can't see any water on the map.

You've done better than me though, it's been bugging me and I've drawn a blank with my searches.

I home it's not a misprint on the postcard and it's actually somewhere in Derbyshire.;)

It's not in Ossy now but could it have been in 1909? Here's a current map showing the area (courtesy of Mario again), could it be one of the three reservoirs?

I think you may have cracked it. It is more hilly over there, and like you say the boundaries may have changed.

the ossy boundries used to be as far as the outskirts of manchester i am told?
