Can the last person to leave Oswaldtwistle switch the lights off please?

I wonder to what extent the Foxhill is a victim of predatory pricing by the Last Orders (Printers)?

Re: The Foxhill Public House

Probably quite a lot. It's a shame but they had such a tremendous opportunity to promote the place as an 'after theatre' drinking venue - but it was always a bit dark and dingy and not very welcoming.

Then again there probably aren't enough good things on at the theatre to encourage people to go anyway.

I presume it won't be the last, as more people stay in drinking their supermarket booze, and enjoying a ciggie in the warmth once the smoking ban comes in.

I think its getting very hard for a 'boozer' to survive now. As you say Rindy, cheap supermarket booze has a lot to do with it. e.g. we sometimes drink Low C. At the local offy its 75p/bottle. In pubs its usually £1.80. Now that is plain rip off. I worked the pub game for 7 years so I do know there has to be some profit in it but the profit on soft drinks and bottles is far too high.

I have always been frustrated at the mark up on soft drinks - especially the ones that are on the spray gun (forgot the correct word). It used to annoy me that a lager shandy was priced at the same price as a lager when it was half lemonade.

Correct word is Post-Mix :)

Ossie Civic Theatre ? there must be hordes of the red carpet brigade mulling around after a show, maybe if we get up a petition against the closure we could send it to Tom Cruise and his mates, they may take up the issue.
