Oswald-opoly

I was bought one of those make-your-own-monopoly kits for my birthday. Basically you get the board and labels and using the templates you make the stickers and property cards for the streets/stations and utility squares. So I've decided to make Oswald-opoly, using the various landmarks around Ossy.

Obviously Park Lane and Fielding Lane should be where Park Lane and Mayfair are. In place of the four stations I might have Jubilee Gardens, Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve, the station and Oswaldtwistle Mills.

Any other suggestions?

Go straight to the Town Hall, to pay fine for late payment of council tax. Do not pass Citizens Advice, do not collect £200.:D

How about using the churches? St. Paul's, Rhyddings Methodist, Melbourne Street Institute, St. Mary's.

What instead of stations? Good idea, after all people sit in both for hours wishing they could get out and carry on with their life.

The speed camera could be instead of "Income Tax".

:D

I hope you never invite Peter Britcliffe round for an evening of board games and nibbles. He might have something to say about Fielding Lane, and not New Lane, being Mayfair.:D

I was thinking that the "free parking" was for the travellers.

Can't remember many of the streets Gayle as absolutely refuse to play this game.

Oxford Street has gotta' be Union Road as only there are there some shops.

Guess the Pedestrian crossing ouside Co-op has to be 'Go'

My jail would be behind Ossy Mills, where I am holed up most days at work.:(

Rhyddings Park would make a good station too.

Bond Street/Regent Street/Whitechapel .. not a clue.

Community Chest: Guess this has got to be Garinda, always willing to lend it out to people in trouble (no sarcasm Neil, meant this kindly  )

Aww thanks Kate x.

What could the counters be, instead of the dog, boot, iron etc.?

How about a shuttle from a loom, and a blackpudding?

garinda 15-10-2006 11:41

Re: Oswald-opoly

...and a clog instead of the boot, and a whippet instead of a terrier.

Now this is a proper game of Monopoly!

It must be worth a day out, but who can we fool into driving us down?

What about the Lamp...you know, the Gobbinland Lamp...or am I not allowed to use that term on this politically correct world that we live in?
