Re: ossie or ossy?

Even though there are some books, which wrongly spell it Ossie, it should end with a Y.

No one ever writes Accie.

That's just wrong.

Therefore it's definitely Ossy.

;)

Always has been and will always be OSSY

Re: ossie or ossy?

Given the local pronunciation, I would have thought ‘Ozzy’ would have been more apt.

But on second thoughts, maybe not; no doubt Britcliffe would start calling himself the local ‘Wizard of Ozzy’.

More years ago than I care to remember, the 'Ossie, (Ossy), Cloggers were dancing in Blackpool, I took time off from watching my daughter and the other children and had a T-shirt with, 'I'm an Ossy Clogger Groupy' made.
One of the Mothers there decided when she saw the shirt that I was a pervert, not just a pervert but a dyslexic pervert because I'd spelt Ossie, (Ossy), wrong.

We can't fight against people that have no tolerence, spell it how you wish so long as you treat it with the respect it deserves.
