which way should it be spelt? i always put ossy 'y' , but read somewhere its ossie 'ie':confused:

The Obsever sometimes does it as Ossie, and people write in to complain.

Thats unlike the Observer to get something wrong. I think it's with a Y as well. As in the OSSYWOOD sign :D

I always spell it with a Y. And it annoys me when people use IE! lol. I once wrote in to the Observer about it..

just wondered cuz i found a old 'ish' book i found..GOBBIN TALES by benita moore, and in the book it is spelt ossie!

I take it this is in reference to Oswaldtwistle ? If so I'd assume it'd end in "ie" as opposed to "y" simply due to the spelling. :)

If I ever abbreviate Oswaldtwistle I always use Ossy, always have always will:)
