Flowers in Ossy??

I like the fact that the council have tried to make Ossy look nicer with the hanging baskets and big flower pots, and think they look great but I am slightly confused.

On the big flower pots at the memorial and next to the Co-op it says "Floral Market Town" to my knowledge Ossy is not a market town. Has it ever been? I'm presuming that they bought them in bulk for the whole of Hyndburn.;)

How come,besides Accy,PB's beloved Ossy gets them:rolleyes:There's non down Church,that iv'e seen.Any one else spotted any outside Accy,Ossy & (i think) Burnley Rd.Total waste of OUR money.

As a former long time resident of Church - really!! how long do you really think they would last in Church before they either got stolen or vandalised?

Ive seen them on manchester road, up by the 2 old petrol stations (ish anway :D)

We could say money would be better spent on the Fire Service, Bland concrete buildings for cheap accommodation for us all, more refuge collections, paving over the parks with no play areas, but have to have some aesthetic contribution to our town or you would be grouching again. Think the floral contributions are lovely and much appreciated.:p
