Re: Grafitti around Ossy
I agree some of the graffiti can be very artistic if done properly
But most of it is just vandalism |
Re: Grafitti around Ossy
Just been down union road and the box at the bottom of new lane has been designed with pink grafiti .
Also the new shutters on Choens chemist have got a racist sign written on them why that i dont know. Also Union Road pavement is full of take away cartons just thrown all over the pavement . where do these people come from there are bins on all the lamp post for such rubish time someone did something about this . |
Re: Grafitti around Ossy
Banksy has a lot to answer for. Whilst I appreciate his artistry, he has inadvertently given our young people the message that it is OK to do it.

well said, some of the people are only expressing how they feel, i think they should be able to do that somewhere they wont get 'done' for it |

Banksy - Outdoors The examples in that link show that. I agree that graffiti is undesirable and the fact that many people like his provides an excuse for vandals. I wasn't claiming that it is 'fine art' - but what constitutes that is a matter of personal preference. I don't find dead sheep artistic - some do |

Re: Grafitti around Ossy
ok ok ok. What consitutes as real art? does it end at oil paintings??? boooooorrring.
There was graffiti before banksy and there will be graffiti after banksy. To blame him is rediculous. And in fairness, most of the kids probably dont even know who he is. To answer the question - where do these people come from? most probably the same place as you. Granted, the pink tags are unattractive. But i believe most of you wouldnt know what a good peice of graffiti was if i scraped your face across it. I think most of you are probly old timers that are completly out of touch with the youth. And i suspect most of you associate hip hop culture with crime. It kind of defeats the object to do it on your own property. A legal wall would be a great idea, but i doubt it would solve the "problem". Whats the difference between a tag and the classic "jack heart's stacy" carved into a tree etc? Anyway. Don't get me wrong, i think those pink tags are an eyesore too but i suspect your collective dismay runs deeper than just the appearance of it. |

We end up paying more council tax because it costs to remove it.
