Oswaldtwistle Players nominated for awards
 

We have received a letter from the NODA Region 3 Rep notifying us that the NODA North West District 3 Awards Evening is to be reinstated. It's been six years since the awards were held so the plays considered for nomination are all the ones in that period. NODA Region 3 covers East Lancashire.

Oswaldtwistle Players have been nominated for the following awards.

Best Supporting Male Actor in a Play
Paul McGowan – George – Road to Nowhere - Oswaldtwistle Players
Best Female Lead in a Play
Sophie Fitzpatrick - Mary Barton – Mary Barton – Oswaldtwistle Players
Best Staging Set or Technical
Road to Nowhere – Oswaldtwistle Players
Best Play
Mary Barton – Oswaldtwistle Players

I'm especially pleased because Road to Nowhere was the play that I directed that was written by my Dad.

I loved Road to Nowhere......although I was disappointed not to see Paddy McGuinness in it. :rolleyes::D

yeh know him kate........comes from ireland.:D the ossy players have always done a sterling job oer the years, me late wifes sis used to be in em, maybe still is?:confused: hope they get the awards there hard work merits.:)

Went to a NODA presentation dinner a few years back when Paul was last up for something; they take it very seriously, like the Oscars! All ballgowns and posh jewellery, sadly we got leathered with a bunch of Scousers who were there representing "Titanic!" The Musical. Hmmmmm.! Don't know who was more gutted when they didn't win, us or them!:mosher:

Unfortunately Sophie didn't pick up the Best Actress Award in the North West awards but there's still the regional in September.

Well, we got one out of the four awards. Best Play for Mary Barton. Well done to everyone who was involved.

Shame my play didn't pick up an award but thrilled that we got the most prestigious one for Oswaldtwistle Players
