Minister mugged in her churchyard.

Sorry to just link a story, other than to say she's a lovely woman, and I hope she soon recovers from this attack.

Hyndburn minister robbed in church grounds (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Sadly the churchyard, and nearby derelict garage, has become the place for large groups of teens to gather, and drink, and worse.

This isn't the first time a crime has been committed there on innocent people, by these feral youths.

Stick a 'youth shelter' in there...problem solved.

Yeah, right.

It is a very sad reflection on life whan a lady vicar cannot go about her church work without getting attacked.
I just hope Karma gets these hooligans.

I called them 'feral youths'.

I know not all young people are up to no good.

They're probably lovely young people, when they're at home, but in large groups, and drunk, they're certainly not.

I know several people who have been victimised by them, whilst going about their business.

We socialised when we were young. Youth clubs, sports clubs, each others' homes, even in the park.

Difference is, we didn't have access to drink and drugs...and wouldn't have had the money to get them if we had.

I can remember being in a pub at 17 when the police came in looking for underage drinkers (the police did that sort of thing in those days:rolleyes:) the only reason my collar wasn't felt was because even at 17 I was 6'-3" tall and so was my mate, but even so I was 17 before I ventured into pubs there were very few off licences in those days can only remember one on, I think it was Kay St., and another on Commercial St, now they're on every corner and don't forget the paddy wagon that trawls the street hawking booze to kids and as for drugs, well think my thoughts on that subject are well known on here. It is a sorry state of affairs when a female vicar cannot walk in church grounds I hope she is soon fit and well and has the strength to keep going after such a trauma

Knowing of this person I am not supprised. Let the courts give him a tough sentance - but I bet they don't:mad::mad::mad:

I don't know the accused, but like the Telegraph's no comments facility, before a person goes before a court, so as not to jepardize their trial, let's remember everyone is innocent until proven otherwise.

They should be guilty until proven innocent for cowardly crimes like this. He seems a bit old to be mugging lone, middle aged women - thought that was usually the M.O. of teenage drug addicts and the likes.
