Saffron got Windows 7 on her laptop and it's great. No faults with it at all

Soon is only if you think the end of 2012 is "soon".

and as most people know, never touch a Microsoft OS for at least 6 months after release so in reality you are looking at another 2 years and that is without any slippage from Microsoft.

Well I don't like Windows 7 because they have mucked about with the My Documents folder. Everything using to live in there like My music My videos etc but now they don't. Unless I am just being numb again. Was trying to sync My documents on lads Windows 7 netbook and his xp desktop.

well its fine for me, Neil, on two counts really, one I ain't got music files and two I aint got a documents folder:D:D

For what you use it for any operating system would do. You would even be ok with linux

To be fair, even if he also used a PC for music, films and documents, Linux would still be good.

I've just had to buy a new video editor because my old one was killed off by the arrival of Vista. If the Linux ones were as capable, I'd jump off the Microsoft ship entirely.

Eh, there is no documents folder, where the eck would I store all my info and pictures on WW1 Soldiers.
Think I'l stick with XP then.

You still have a documents folder - but it is further confused with the use of "libraries".

I got a laptop with it pre installed, it works for me in as much as I can run numerous programs at once ;)
