Re: We can't live without Facebook
I use it, i like to be able to keep in touch with my dad in ireland and see pics of my brothers and he gets to see my little ones. ive got family in america and china, plus the ones in bradford and tys family down south, its easier than ringing or emailing them all phots and them sendong them back
I also got back in touch with an old friend on facebook.....and married him in april ;-) |

Re: We can't live without Facebook
I have friends and family scattered all over the globe, but I do not need facebook to keep in touch......photo's go on Flickr, you can decide who actually sees them......all other communciation is by e-mail.
I do not like facebook, and feel that my choices suit my needs. |
Re: We can't live without Facebook
Well, I'll be seeing and speaking to my son, Ricky, tomorrow morning at 11 again -can't wait. It's much cheaper than using the phone to India. Although apart from this I've never really used Facebook all that much...
Nice to hear a +ve story though like Emamum's -the wonders of technology!:D |
Re: We can't live without Facebook
Just been on to my mum, she's out in New Zealand at the mo. visiting my sister. She wondered if it was possible for us to do a 3 way video link on Facebook tomorrow with my son. It would be 11am for us, 11pm for them - anyone know if this is possible? Please advise!

Its more friendly than email because other family members can chip in and feel part of the chat, you can also lock down who can see your posts to just friends and no one else and just have a few family members as friends. |
Re: We can't live without Facebook
As a family we are scattered over many time zones, so facebook doesn't make a practical difference.......and anyway even as a family we sometimes bitch about one another :) .....No, I just don't like or trust facebook.
My e-mails are friendly anyway.:D:D |
Re: We can't live without Facebook
In fact, I would go so far as to say I loathe Facebook!

Re: We can't live without Facebook
I have just had to upgrade my Yahoo Mail........and there it is sitting like a bloated poison toad.......a button that links to Facbook.
I asked if there was any damn way I could remove it.........No, of course there isn't. Don't be silly, this insidious entity wants to be part of everything we do in life. I'm just surprised there isn't a facebook button on my bedroom ceiling! |

Re: We can't live without Facebook
I haven't tried it........but I have seen the damage it can do........and my daughter used to use it. What I have seen of it, appears shallow....facebook 'friends' you are never likely to meet........the chatter.......NO. Not for me thank you very much.
It is insidious. Lots of advertisers want you to 'like them' on it........competitions appear exclusively on it...so if you aren't on it, then you cannot enter. Petitions are on it, so again, if you aren't on you are excluded. Just my opinions, of course. Give me Accyweb any day of the week. |
