i no longer use the free/ please buy the unlimited antivirus such as avg, avira etc microsoft provide a free antivirus called microsoft security essentials which is made my microsoft for microsoft products and is more than enough and dosnt eat up as much resources as others again because it is mad eby the people who also made your operating system. If anyone suggests norton and is within reach save arguing and just kick them in the nuts as it will protect yor computer as effectiveliy as a chocolate fireguard would protect young children from the fire |

Re: Free Virus Guards
I'm in the process of migrating the home PCs from AVG to Avast.
AVG has let two viruses through in the last two months. |
Re: Free Virus Guards
Well I have Bullguard on mine, its not free but I can cover 3 computers with it, works for me.

Re: Free Virus Guards
I second that John....it runs in the background all the time, updates itself without anyhelp from me and has a 24/7 live helpdesk.
You can try it FREE for 60 days BullGuard Internet Security here is a link |

I've been using Norton for over a year now and as far as I know have had no problems although I don't find it user friendly, I just didn't fancy the hassle of changeing it when it was due for renewal. It gets good reviews so why are you so unhappy with it? |
Re: Free Virus Guards
I didn't rate Norton either....it was supposed to be protecting my system but it let viruses and trojans through....and yes, I did the updates regularly.....and No I didn't visit 'shonky' sites.
It also slowed my system down......it was a right royal pain |
