A heads up to BT customers.
If you get an e-mail like this....Beware, it is a scam.
It looks genuine...has the BT logo(which would not copy to show you) Do not follow the advice to click here (in red at the bottom of the page). It will harvest your card details. Dear Customer, This e-mail has been sent to you by BT to inform you that we were unable to process your last payment of bill. This might be due to either of the following reasons: 1. A recent change in your personal information. (eg: billing address, phone) 2. Submitting incorrect Payment information during bill payment process. Due to this, to ensure that your service is not interrupted, we request you to confirm and update your billing information today by clicking here Regards, BT Billing Department |
Re: A heads up to BT customers.
I've had a few like that from "BT" and I have forwarded them straight to two email addresses that I got from BT to report them
|
Re: A heads up to BT customers.
.Do not open them and forward them to BT. The two email addresses to forward suspected BT scam emails are [email protected] and [email protected]

Re: A heads up to BT customers.
I have e-mailed BT and copied the offending e-mail to them.
I checked my account online and all my bills are paid up to date. I just thought I would warn people.....it is easy to get sucked in when the details look so authentic. |
Re: A heads up to BT customers.
I get e-mails from Paypal regular that look very authentic, i always forward em to paypals address, i know they are complete bollards, cos i aint used paypal fer owt this year. seems many firms are victims of these conning swine.

Re: A heads up to BT customers.
That is the difference Cashy......I get e-mails from Natwest...telling me my account is frozen. They go straight in the trash box. I have no account with natwest.....but it is a bit different when you have an account with a company and they write and tell you your payment has failed.
Anyway...just so that people are aware. |
Re: A heads up to BT customers.
Please will people stop posting these emails with live links to the spammers website. I can see Mick has edited the original post and removed the email address. If you are not sure how to do that all you need to do is not copy that part of the email when you do a copy and paste.
Not having a go at you Margaret because several have done it and needed editing to protect members from the phishing website and I know you posted it to help not cause members problems. And for those who will moan at me this is the rule about it Quote:
