Neat streets ----in Church!

Neat Idea For Neighbourhood (from Lancashire Telegraph)
A long overdue tidy up.
When I lived there 6 years ago, and while my house was for sale, I collected a carrier bag of rubbish from the street front every day (in a vain attempt to give the impression that the street was a reasonably nice area )

I hope they get more notice of the skips than we did - by the time I'd got a leaflet it had been and gone!

This consultation document may be of interest to residents of Church if you are not already aware of it.

There is one available for the Rhyddings & Straits Conservation areas but I have not been able to find it yet.

That's what I thought margaret, it is a very interesting document. I hope the rhyddings & straits one is as good when HBC publish it. There is a lot of interesting stuff on the HBC website now.

I see this 'neat streets' idea has gone to the dogs. Dumping on back alleys is starting to make 'em look like the tip again. Some people disgust me :cursing:

Dog fouling and litter are slightly better but still loads of room for improvement.

Litter has been terrible with this wind!! Some genius thought they'd put a bag out on friday and the combination of the local yobbos with the wind made a right mess. I had to pick a load of plastic bottles, cardboard and cans up from the front of the house.

Well I guess it is no more. Went to the shop yesterday and 4 out of the 5 back alleys I passed were disgusting. What is it about some people that just think anything they dump on their back alley doesn't become a concern of theirs anymore?
Dog-fouling, yet again, is at epidemic proportions.
Litter too is unbelievable.

Some people are just disgusting and obviously have no sense of pride in either themselves or their surroundings. :(

It would help if some folk knew what week to put out recycling & when to put out their bins:rolleyes:There was a 3 piece suite dumped out the other week, the next day the kids were pushing each other around the streets on it......Church,lovely place.

I think its like anythink else Maxwell, the council can only do so much, its then up to the individual to do their bit, but they don't give a stuff:mad:
