If there is then it must pre date the OS maps of the area. I don't know if the old house had it's brurial Ground or not but they may have been some kind of mound where the Oaklea now stands, two points of interest is the sub station if it's still there and the possiblity of the Oaklea being built over running water.

In the event of Accyjay accepting an offer of a friendly investigation, I take it that you are volunteering your services Mr Timmins, you being a non believer an all would make an interesting contribution to the sitting.

One point, in the interest of security, once you are in someone else’s property there’s no running away in the middle of the night……… :D

Why would people in a graveyard be frying bacon??????????????

Re: Help! I've got myself a friend!

I'm sure they said it was a ghost from when the property was residential. I wish I could remember the stories but it's so long ago, I'd hate to be incorrect.

LOL well I will volunteer to do the sitting, and I wouldn't be running down Whalley Road scared either lol

Would be better to get a few believers and a few non believers to even things out a bit!:D

I’d say no more than six people, all volunteers, all sober. You can then go two groups of three or three groups of two; covering all floors, no one goes anywhere alone that way any sightings are potentially collaborated. Take digital kit, voice records, cameras, video etc and run test objects in secured areas. I’d try and get a medium involved and a history researcher to look over the property and the sites history. A presence may not necessarily come with the current building. Oh and you don’t need a ghost to be scared ****less. Just spend a night with me….:D

I have just joined the forum and I am catching up on old articles.
This thread is like a novel with last few pages missing.

Re: Help! I've got myself a friend!

I have only been on this forum for 18 months and so I haven't seen it before.
AccyJay doesn't come on much now - busy running the pub I suppose.

There is one snippet of info that I can add to this -
In the late 1940s my brother had a TB gland in his neck and went for 'sun ray' treatment at that building which later became the Marlborough Club. It was an early NHS clinic then.

Re: Help! I've got myself a friend!

If someone could call in the pub and ask about it, I am interested in the outcome.
Show your spouse this thread if they ask why you are going out.
It would be rude to go in and not have a drink, wouldn't it.
