I was metal detecting on the Kings Highway the other day. I found a James The first silver sixpence (Hammered Coin) dated 1605near Higher Heys Farm. I also found loads of bullets

Nice find, can we have some pics?

I've been up the Kings highway swinging my detector but the signals were few and far between plus the ground was very tough.
What machine was you using?....

...Keep us informed of any future finds :)

I was using a Minelab CTX

Sorry I wish I could post some pictures of the coin but not sure how to get them on here

I have also found three silver love tokens on and around Moleside and other bits and pieces

I hope you can figure out the uploading procedure as I'd like to see what's been laying up there for 100s of years.

We're quite an amenable crew on here & if you use the "Search" function at the top of the page there's a good chance you'll find someone, somewhere, has posted an answer to many questions that are asked.

I've had a quick look for you & come up with the following (post 3):-

Should this not suit your needs, all you need do is have a go yourself 6 I'm pretty certain you'll be enlightened. :)

.

Wow, I'd no idea you could pay so much, even for a top line detector.
Shows how long ago since I bought one!

You have put a link in that's to your computer, you have to attach the images to your message by clicking Go Advanced in the box where you type your reply.

Then scroll down the page it takes you to and click Manage Attachments

Yes,it's not a detector you can send off for using tokens off a cereal box G.
Problably the reason they have been successful where others (myself included) have failed......I doubt that my detector would pick a coin up at 7"+ deep :(
