Old Moseley's Bakery to be given new lease of life

The old bakery, on Jacob Street, which was later occupied by the Elite Snooker club, and has been empty for quite a while, is to be transformed by the North Lancs Training Group.

Work has already started

Yes....we did, but ours was a bit different.....
Don't eat Moseleys bread it makes you sh*t like lead.
No bl**dy wonder you f@rt like thunder,
Eating moseleys bread.

Saying that we used to go by the bakery every day when we walked home from school.......to buy squashed cakes at a penny each......we used to walk it home so that we could spend our bus fare on cakes....we didn't care if they were squashed. They tasted alright to us.

Just a few views here, to jog people's memories. The premises had been closed for quite a while when these photos were taken towards the end of 2009.

It moved from above Redman's to the old Ambulance Drill Hall, then when that closed it moved to the old bakery, was owned by the stepfather of that young snooker player that looked like he was going to be a world beater, made a 147 break when he was only 14, he was called Mark, but can't remember his surname, he lives in Ossy now and I saw him in Ossy Con occasionally. in fact he played for the team there for a while, don't think he plays at all now

Article here explains a little about what is going to happen to the old bakery/snooker hall which is on Jacob Street/corner of Grange Lane.
