Accrington Complete...

Yall' seen this Lancs CC document about Accy.....very interesting...loads of facts figures and pics..

Never seen so much written about the town from Roman times through medieval to present day......

A lot of glossing over & generalisation of known facts about Accrington, which are shown in the Coucher Book of Kirkstall Abbey, there were 7 vaccaries formed by the monks not 5. Other documents relating to Accrington can be found at Kew, and in the Chetham Society records.
The formation of the two holds of Accrington occured in 1504, not 1507.

Yes the document has inaccuracies, what do you expect, it's compiled by outsiders from Preston, but's its still a useful summary and good to see LCC taking an interest.

I found some errors in the equivalent document for Morecambe where I live now and submitted corrections to the LCC Archaeology Service.
