also partridge lakes, cultcheth, nr risley warrington evan if the carp dont feed in the cold the chub and barbel usually do. also 1 lake stocked with f1 hybrids which will feed all year round, choice of seven lakes,:) weekends theres a refreshment bar, its a little bit further away but can be well worth it in the winter. hope this is a help.
ps im not the angler but ive asked my hubby whos into match fishing.

Re: Fishing

Thanx for the the feedback(bar timmins!), will make an effort to try waters new.

Hynburn n Blackburn AA was great value for money for the season.
They still have kinda untouched waters like the the slate pits and clarendon st. where the fish(some decent quality) take all types of bait, these little waters can sometimes make a rite good days fishing.
\
p.s. don't tell em all, we won't get a peg come school holidays!!

Re: Fishing

It is, I don't know who has it now though.
Accrington and district used to have it until the land owners upped the rent. I was told they netted it 3 times and theres still loads of fish in!

Does anyony know whats going on with the paper mill?

Re: Fishing

The paper mill lodge is now owned by Park View Nursery and is all fenced off, no official fishing allowed.

Re: Fishing

Thanx for that, just makes me wonder what they are planning to do with it. I have been told it is on the greenblt so no chance of housing, even so they would have to drain and leave it for ten years eitherway!

I do think in the right hands it could make a cracking litte day fishery.

I'd like to get to the bottom of this one. Any info, or rumors will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, what about the lodge in Clayton .. I live 20 yards from the edge? Think Accrington Fishing Club have the rights. Will make you a brew .. you'll have to bring yer' own tea bag though, only good at coffee.

Re: Fishing

Thanx for the offer, i do believe it's called super st. and belongs to hyndburn n b.b club.

If the offer's still open in a few months time, a brew would be great, how much are the bacon butties? us lads start early, could well be a nice little money spinner if the fishing goes well!  :)

Re: Fishing

Looks like the Nursery are using the land for tipping, as you drive past and look towards the path which used to lead round the top of the water (near to the road) has a load of ?????? piled, course it could be top soil ready for landscaping.......

Please don't give left overs to the ducks though, they fat enough.

Is that with all the spinners & plugs & suchlike, personally don't think much to that. Sooner be sat with a rod & line using a waggler/pole, sitting back & taking in the countryside. :)

Ah Mate, there's a whole lot more to it than that, specially if you're away night fishing. :D Peace & tranquillity (no wifey), at one with nature (getting stung, bitten & savaged by bugs & biddies), Good company, telling lies & quaffing Ale (it doesn't get much better) & all that without putting a line in the water ! ;) :D
