Ashes 2010
do you think theyre actually going to keep the ashes ... they drew their first match, looks like theyre in control in this one ...

Re: Ashes 2010
Well I've watch quite a lot of the first two matches and I've never, in my lifetime, sen an Aussie bowling attack as inapt as they are now, its the first time in history that England have scored 500 in back to back test matches against the Aussies and in both innings have only lost 5 wickets in total, with 2 double centuries and 3 other centuries. but never write the Aussies off especially against England

Re: Ashes 2010

Re: Ashes 2010
Woke up this morning and saw the test score at close of play. England 157-0. Good start, I thought, but there must have been a rain delay.
Then I read on. Australia 98 all out. Gobsmacked, to say the least! :thankya::thankya::thankya: |
Re: Ashes 2010
Just been watching the highlights on Sky News. There were 91,000 in the ground at start of play. A full house.
By the time England had reached 150, there can't have been more than a couple of thousand watching. Absolutely hilarious! :do-one: :do-one::do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: :do-one: |

Re: Ashes 2010
I don't know if anyone ever saw Ponting in his prime. But he was one hell of good bat. He was one of the few batsman I would have paid money to go and watch. One of the best in the world without any doubt.
In the Ashes series in 2005, England would have won more decisively had not been for Ponting. I saw him at Old Trafford get a big ton, on not that good a wicket, to stop us winning that match. |

I admire him as a cricketer, but as a sportsman and a person during a match i think he is an obnoxious, whinging, slimy, rat faced little git:dummy:

Had a fab time at the Ashes this time. Have been lucky with the weather and had a great time at the cricket ( no chavvy footie shirts from me). It has been sweet revenge after losing all 5 tests the last time I was here :-)

Can't let it pass without saying well done to the England team. To win the series 3-1, a great achievement in Australia. Particular mention for Jimmy Anderson, local Burnley lad. who bowled brilliantly

Re: Ashes 2010
Sad news from Australia, it appears that Sydney was totally deserted from 1pm Aussie Time, not even Skippy could manage an appearance as the Barmy Arm celebrate a fab-u-lous Ashes victory down under. One native Aussie, somebody call Warne was heard to say what's all the fuse about this little urn:dummy::dummy::dummy::D:D:D

Re: Ashes 2010
It was never in any doubt, though my 5-0 bet was maybe a bit too optimistic! Well done to Strauss and the lads and a happy test retirement to El Gingero Magnifico! :mosher::mosher::mosher:
