Ashes 2010

Re: Ashes 2010

Well I've watch quite a lot of the first two matches and I've never, in my lifetime, sen an Aussie bowling attack as inapt as they are now, its the first time in history that England have scored 500 in back to back test matches against the Aussies and in both innings have only lost 5 wickets in total, with 2 double centuries and 3 other centuries. but never write the Aussies off especially against England

Woke up this morning and saw the test score at close of play. England 157-0. Good start, I thought, but there must have been a rain delay.

Then I read on. Australia 98 all out.

Gobsmacked, to say the least! :thankya::thankya::thankya:

Just been watching the highlights on Sky News. There were 91,000 in the ground at start of play. A full house.

By the time England had reached 150, there can't have been more than a couple of thousand watching.

Absolutely hilarious! :do-one: :do-one::do-one: :do-one: :do-one:

Was talking on the phone over Christmas to a buddy of mine in Australia , an Accy web member born and bred in Ossy , he's been in Australia for 25 yrs+ , seems its some sort of new tradition to for the English fans (recent chav immigrants from the UK) to wear English football team shirts at a cricket match . Do the cricket fans visiting the West End or Enfield grounds wear Stanley ,Rovers or Dingle shirts ;) :D :D

Not sure Steeljack.. but I'm sure the "new chav immigrants" from the UK will keep up the tradition of convicts and scumbags from the Mother Country making up the population of Australia. :)

It also doesn't say he's a bloody bad loser either:D

I don't know if anyone ever saw Ponting in his prime. But he was one hell of good bat. He was one of the few batsman I would have paid money to go and watch. One of the best in the world without any doubt.

In the Ashes series in 2005, England would have won more decisively had not been for Ponting. I saw him at Old Trafford get a big ton, on not that good a wicket, to stop us winning that match.

He's still a bad loser, can give it but can't take it, only sings when he's winning

But he's Australian, they don't like losing especially to us. Although I thought he's comments after the match were almost magnanimous.

Had a fab time at the Ashes this time. Have been lucky with the weather and had a great time at the cricket ( no chavvy footie shirts from me). It has been sweet revenge after losing all 5 tests the last time I was here :-)

Can't let it pass without saying well done to the England team. To win the series 3-1, a great achievement in Australia. Particular mention for Jimmy Anderson,local Burnley lad. who bowled brilliantly

Sad news from Australia, it appears that Sydney was totally deserted from 1pm Aussie Time, not even Skippy could manage an appearance as the Barmy Arm celebrate a fab-u-lous Ashes victory down under. One native Aussie, somebody call Warne was heard to say what's all the fuse about this little urn:dummy::dummy::dummy::D:D:D
