That's just a close match - a real battle.

Don't wish to nit-pick but the third set was 6-3...:D

Murray will not win it he will bottle it as usual, its a shame because he has the game and the shots and the physicality to do it but is mentally fragile in my opinion.

Have to diagree Dave -he's worked on it a lot and showed courage and mental strength yesterday. He lost the last two encounters with this guy and came back from being behind several times during the match. He carried on going for his shots and played some great tennis against a strong opponent.:)

Serena's just blasted her way into another final at Wimbledon. She looks such an Amazon and then seems to be very sweet and mild when interviewed.

How does she get away with the mascara and heavy eye-liner, I ask myself. All that thrashing about and sweating -you'd think it would start to melt and go smeary!

Wish she'd change the outfit though -looks like a chicken well trussed up and ready to go on the spit! Plenty of meat on her anyway;) :D

Making it to the final is an amazing feat -think of how much pressure he was under...

Hope he can play his best against Federer and however it goes in the end that it is one of those memorable matches that goes down in history.

Federer is probably the greatest player of all time -style and class.

They wll both be under incredible presuure on Sunday -may the best man win!

Even before todays semi it was already Murray's best chance of winning this and now he is in the final..Federer is the 3rd seed with Murray the 4th so there's not much between them , Murray has 8-7 wins over Federer on past meetings and I have Murray as favorite to win this .

Don't know about favourite - 50/50 is probably more correct in betting terms -there will be two great players out there.:)

I have had a feeling that this would be Murray's year since the start - hence this thread. I haven't polished up my crystal ball and had a peek since then -wouldn't like to spoil the match knowing the result beforehand -am superstitious too! ;):D

I was wondering though -given that it's a Jubilee year and the first British man in 74 years is in a Wimbledon final -whether Her Maj might be popping along to sit in the Royal box on sunday afternoon. It probably wouldn't matter to Murray either way - doubt he's a royalist.

She was there for the Silver jubilee win of "Ginny" Wade though-last "so-called" British ladies final winner.

Would be nice if Wills and Kate could take Granny along...:D

Do you get the impression she hates tennis with a vengeance? She's only been a couple of times in 60 years - can't think its because she's always unlucky in the ballot for tickets!

She probably prefers to sit at home watching Racing UK, and frankly, I don't blame her! The thought of being anywhere near that odious McEnroe character would make anyone take to the hills!

Very interesting article. He says "Eventually, the wait will be over. The one thing I can guarantee is that I'll fight my absolute heart out. I need to give everything I have from the first point to the last."

BBC Sport - Andy Murray Wimbledon column: I'm ready for the final hurdle

"Roger Federer may be the favourite but Andy Murray can end 76 years of hurt."

Don't know what odds they're giving on the match but I know who I'm backing to win!;):D

Unfortunately not Cashy - was an exciting match though -kept me on the edge of my seat. Andy fought all the way but Federer just kept pulling shots out of the hat...

Lots of emotion -not a dry eye in the house at the end.

Well another one bites the dust, after the first set it all went belly up for Murray, think the turning point was the sixth game of the 3rd set 40 love up and lost the serve in a game which lasted 20 minutes, after that it was all down hill, but credit to Federer, he was very very good this afternoon

Not really being a betting person, if Andy managed to win I was going to suggest Cashy gave it to charity (2-1 would have been a tenner which should not be sniffed at!). Don't know when I'll see him next to hand over his winnings - it'll be up to him to decide what to do with it then!:)

Definitely crucial that game Jay -not one thing went right for him and he fought and fought - shame!

Cor you're all heart ain't you mate :D..but I really did think maybe Federer would feel his age in this one ...not even close.. the bloke played some fantastic shots and at the end made it look like just another days work.

Even though Murray is only 25 time is not on his side as far as taking a "Big Un" :(

Ya cashy he's just missing that final essence that makes great players, although Federer is thirty and Murray about 24? the likes of Nadal will still be around, think this years was his best chance of winning, but he'll always be there or thereabouts

Was surprising just who was there yesterday, there was a shot of the Beckhams and they didn't now the camera was on them, it just showed how vain Victoria really is she couldn't give over preening and pouting just in case people were looking at here, pass the sick bag

I was looking at them Jay and thought -what an attractive man Becks is becoming as he ages. Natural with his wrinkles and all. She looked so fake and was a such a pretty young woman once over - what a shame!

Still nice for him though!

Nadal won't be playing at the Olympics -still out for injury...

Federer and Djokovich will be in though -should be some good matches.

I wouldn't know about footie Jay - 22 over-paid "big girl's blouses" running around on grass, rolling in agony over the slightest thing, bad-mouthing each other and spitting all over the place:rolleyes: Then getting cramp after 90 minutes of kicking a ball about. Not my idea of sporting heroes I'm afraid..

Give me tennis any day - stamina, courage, technique, speed, acrobatics, strength. light-ness of touch, deftness, hand to eye co-ordination, mental and physical battling...the list goes on!

Murray World Number One -that's my next prediction :hothothot:alright::hothothot

Nerves sometimes do get frayed -nothing compared to footie though! Don't think anyone's ever been taken to court for example...

I loved John McEnroes outbursts and Jimmy Connors -added colour to the game and was never really offensive. :):D

It takes courage to get up from the chair and carry on playing a match which has been going on for over 3, 4 or even 5 hours! No team to suport you -just you and your conviction that you can win...

As to Rugby -love it, all those big blokes grappling in the mud...Mmmmm!;):D

Rate it 1000 times Footie!

First Grand Slam of the year has finished it's first week in Oz. Seen some top tennis -Djokovich has just gone through to the Semi's with a good win over Berdych but was lucky to squeak through the round before against a very strong Wawrinka. Federer is in great shape as is Andy Murray -both breezed into the quarter finals, they'll be playing tomorrow. Should be a week of great tennis ahead -C'mon Andy!!:alright:

Was a great match, was on the edge of my seat -Murray's fitness level is incredible -out-classed Federer who fought really hard to hang in for 5 sets.

Should be a fantastic final - may the best man win on the day! C'mon Andy!!:alright:
