Well it was Steve Redgrave to a point, then onto appointees from former Olympic greats to do the last bit in the stadium, think the lighting was first class a bit away from the norm, but very clever and well planned

It really will be a hard one to beat -great fireworks and the final athlete running through the air on a wire around the stadium was very original and well staged. The whole thing reflected what the Chinese nation are about now and their history -looking forward to seeing it tonight - just hope it shows the best of British!

I think the British one over all was as good as anything else we've seen from other countries. Except for Macca at the end.

I suppose a good catholic boy like yourself will just think of it as a medieval excommunication ritual.

Researchers into satanism and occult practice recognise much more symbolism being used.

There is so much of it that 'coincidence' is just not a feasible explanation.

Have you been reading David Icke, Margaret? :)

David Icke claims London 2012 Opening Ceremony was a secret Satanic ritual - Mirror Online

I prefer to read what Bob Schlenker has written.
He specialises in research into occult practices.

PS the media uses David Icke as a tool for more ridicule - the real researchers into occult practice will not be quoted

Researchers can find exactly what they want to find just to back up their story and has for being a good catholic boy, oh hum ;)

Research into occult practices will not interest most balanced people on the planet, its only people with a warped suspicious mind that it interests:rolleyes:

If attempts are made to influence your subconcious mind it is best to be aware of how it is done.

Well it was the Nazi's who first started running long distance with an Olympic flame, it was a local thing in Ancient Greece but the Nazi's where the first to make it into a big ceremony...carried through to this day.

Carl Diem (born June 24, 1882, Würzburg – December 17, 1962, Cologne) was a German sports administrator, and as Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the Berlin Olympic Games, the chief organizer of the 1936 Olympic Summer Games (sometimes referred to as the "Nazi Olympics").
He created the tradition of the Olympic torch relay when he organised the 1936 build-up event, and was an influential historian of sport, particularly the Olympic games.
