Mayweather vs Pacquiao

Got up at 04:15 to watch the fight. Not the brawl everyone expected. Quite disappointed and tired!!!:(

I bet those who paid £35,000. for a ringside seat weren't impressed either.

I watched it this morning for free, worth every penny.

I got my figures wrong.
Just been told a ringside seat was £350,000.
Who's crazy enough to pay that, someone did.
Must be a wealthy boxing fanatic.

Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao

Some were calling this "The Last Great Fight" ... don't know about that, altho' Mayweather did the job.

The glory days of boxing are gone. I remember the time when lotsa folks knew the names of boxers: Ali, Frazier (ah, THE FIGHT:alright:), Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto "Fists of Stone" Duran, Tyson, Irish Mickey Rourke: the list goes on, and on ... even George Chuvalo who, in 98 fights including bouts against the best in the world, was never put on his ass once.:dancedog: But I would be hard put to name too many of today's boxers. If this is boxing's last blast before UFC takes over, at least it was an expensive one.;)

Read in todays paper Mayweather will have one last fight,to see his contract out, and may well take the easy option of a fight with Khan? Can't really argue wi that view.

Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao

They are now saying that Pacquiao had a torn rotator cuff.
It is said that they knew it before the fight and that some sort of cortisone shot was declined by the Pacquiao camp also before the fight.
When that much money is involved you could bet that the fight would go on.
Over all IMHO the fight did nothing to restore any luster to the boxing game.
And so it goes.

A re-match would be a better prospect!

I think if he wins his next fight he will equal Rocky Marcianos 49 wins out of 49 pro fights, will he really retire without going one more to beat it?

He could face charges for not disclosing that injury.
Manny Pacquiao could face PERJURY charge after failing to disclose pre-fight shoulder injury - Mirror Online
