2) Dalziel and Pascoe
3) Sherlock Holmes ( with Jeremy Brett )

I watched that daft " who would solve your murder " thing on tv the other week and still can't comprehend how Columbo came top ?? The bloke obviously can't even find a dry cleaners for his mac let alone a murderer!
Makes me think they only picked him because he was still around for a quote whereas the late lamented John Thaw sadly isn't.

There are that many repeats of Columbo that he would come top.
Just goes to show that you shouldnt judge on the wrapping only. :p Besides that mac is as well known as Morses Jag Holmes and his deerstalker and pipe and the drinking that Dalziel does. ;)

How about Sabre of London?

I'd forgotten Cadfael too. Those are superb stories.
