Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Suppose all the 'Carry on's' were quite silly really, didn't particularly laugh at all their capers .. still you did say 'favourite silly'.
|
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Some Like It Hot - two blokes witness the St Valentines Day massacre so pretend to dress be members of an all girls band to get out of the city.
I guess that's not quite what you're looking for though - I absolutely hate the thought of silly films like Carry on, Airplane, Hot Shots, Police Academy, etc BUT I have watched loads of them and laughed, hating myself for enjoying them even more!!!!! :D |
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
MONTY PYTHON films.. cant believe no ones mentioned them... they are silly silly silly :)
|
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Get Smart is a film i've seen recently. Now that is silly. Can think of a couple of other words to describe it as well. Plus i've seen a film recently about a champion table tennis player. This too is very SILLY! Can't think of its name. Want to erase the memory of it from my mind.

Re: Favourite Silly Movies
The Monty Python films are the best!!!
And any Kevin Smith film, especially Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back! Also like Adam Sandler & Ben Stiller films. |
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
I enjoyed Life of Brian (any atheist would ;))
but The Meaning of Life just made me dash to the foyer gagging (the restaurant sketch) ... not everything they did was memorable for the right reasons |
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Holy Grail is my favourite (NIE!!!). I agree with you Margaret about the Meaning of Life!

Spaceballs and the first Scary Movie film are up there for me, but Airplane is also a favourite along with Johnny English and the one that used to make me roll around laughing when I was a kid. . . . .The Three Amigos!!!!!
|
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Laurel & Hardy did a few.The Marx Brothers,Three Stooges,Chaplin,Lloyd,Harbuckle. All the old silent comedies were silly.Who was the guy with the wonky eyes, does any one recall?Harold Lioyd springs to mind but i'm probarbly wrong.

Re: Favourite Silly Movies
"Man with two brains" absolute classic - Steve Martin and Kathleen Turner.
|
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
I agree with huge swathes of the movies above, especially the Mel Brooks / Airplane / Monty Python comments.
However for sheer silliness the two Hot Shots films will always be favourites and Jackie Chan's "City Hunter" is an absolute winner. |
Re: Favourite Silly Movies
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) has a couple of really funny scenes
