The Apprentice

Its that time of year again! (Yippee!! :D) The Apprentice starts again tonight BBC1 9pm. Looking at this years contestants none of them up out at me. They all actually seem like idiots, but thats only from the website, you necer know I may well be suprised.

BBC - The Apprentice - Home

And i'm absolutely sure that Kate Walsh has been on another reality tv show, but I can't for the life of me figure or find out which one. She has also been having an affair with one of the other contestants. Sir Alan apparently wasn't happy when he found out. lol.

Also there is only 15 contestants instead of the usual 16, because one guy dropped out just before filming started.

Hurrah!

Best reality programme of the year.

Can't wait to see just how 'clever' these egos in suits are.

It's a bit early for any pre-show coupling.

That usually doesn't happen until about programme three.:D

Stars of the show are Nick and Margaret.
Love the "Your Fired" on BBC2 which shows the fired contestant their actions for getting fired and how stupid they look.

Love this programme.
Definitely agree about Margaret and Nick. Especially Margaret, and those looks she gives..worth watching just for that. :)

When I first saw a photo of Anita I thought – Ugly.
Then watching the programme I thought – Ugly
When she appeared on “Your fired” I thought – Pretty
This has been the same for many of the women in the past also.

Conclusion
Women are ugly when under pressure.

I watched The Apprentice for the first time ever last night. Wasn't overly impressed but I think I'll watch more of it.

You've definitely got to watch a few, just to see how hopeless some of them are.:D

The girls deserved to lose, after blowiing the whole budget, and not knowing exactly what they needed to buy for their cleaning business. I thought Anita was unlucky to be fired, and think the project manager, or the horrible Debra should have gone.

Don't like Philip, the Geordie estate agent. He's a real snake in the grass. Ready to bad mouth the boy's project manager, but not having the bottle to nominate himself for the role.

It never ceases to amaze me how pretensious the contestants are, they are all "the best" there has ever been, jeez do they end up with egg on their faces:D

IMO the one that was fired last night deserved it just for being fugly :D :D

The other one was a reet beech...

The apprentice is great. I'm always hooked! They certainly manage to pick the biggest egos, who mostly turn out to be crap. :D

Re: The Apprentice

I really think that the wrong person was fired this week. I would have liked to have seen the big mouthed Jason Segel lookalike walk, but he didn't deserve to leave either. I think there were a couple of lads who got very lucky.

Re: The Apprentice

The opening scenario states that the best business brains in the country have been selected from hundreds of entries to take part in the whittling down process. If the contestants on first two shows are anything to go by, then it comes as no surprise to recognise why the nation is in the diabolical state that it currently is. S'rAlan will certainly have his work cut out with this bunch of inflated no-marks. Nick's facial and verbal expressions on The Apprentice You're Fired said it all!

Re: The Apprentice

What a load of useless cretins this years candidates are proving to be. Yet again the wrong person was voted off, even though he was practically comatose throughout the exercise, he should not have gone. The product could have been something off Blue Peter, and for that alone, the arrogant designer should have been fired, along with the useless team leader.

Re: The Apprentice

S'rAlan was off his rocker to fire 'Ginger' (15.4.09). Arrogant Ben should've been shown the door. His couldn't care less attitude lead to the pricing cock up that cost them a win when Noodle would certainly have been sent packing.

Mr Sugar should have ignored the rules, firing that useless lump Noorul from the winning team.

So Mona is the latest casualty to be discarded by S'rAlan. The stone-faced, acid-tongued Debra rules the roost, so it seems! Bet Margate was glad to see the back of them all!

Mona offered nothing for the last 8 weeks and deserved to go. I thought the task was generally poor this week anyway.

I agree. I Listened to Mona's Radio-5 interview on Thursday morning when she admitted that she underperformed as her heart was no longer in it. I am looking forward to the interview stage as none of those left have demonstrated initiative in any of the tasks they have been called upon to perform. This has been a disappointing series to date.

The interest in this particular thread seems to replicate viewers interest in this particular series. Uninspiring - uninteresting - and let down by a bunch of hopeless none-entities who should never have gotten through the selection process.

Once the illusion of competition is dissolved by a lack of integrous contestants, it's just The X Factor, really.
Unlike The X Factor though, I'm enjoying my first series of The Apprentice, even if it is just television.

Even though I thought Ben was a complete ass, I was quite surprised to see him fired. Once again the plastic-faced Debra has lived to fight another day. Still, it'll be entertaining to see how far her shrewish, vitriolic tongue will take her.

The firing of Howard last week came as no surprise; though there is little to choose between the remaining candidates: James, Yasmina, Kate, Debra and the scary one with the glasses. I have to say that I have been somewhat disappointed by the lack of flair and personality shown by this years feckless hopefuls. If I were S'r Alan, I doubt that I'd want to hire any of them. The interview stages, followed by Sunday's finale may well yield a surprise - though I doubt it! Maybe the planned 'Junior Apprentice' program will field a better bunch of applicants?

Re: The Apprentice

So James, Lorraine and Debra finally bite the dust. The preview program showed them all in a new light, though. James really is a twerp, as revealed in the interview stages, whilst I'm having to reconsider my objections to Debra, and Lorraine's make-over for the 'Your Fired' show was quite an improvement. Maybe Debra should have made Sunday's final with Kate just to make things more interesting. Can't say that I'm overly impressed with either finalist . . . but it's not up to me - is it!

Stumped 10-06-2009 21:44

Re: The Apprentice

That's it for another year. Yasmina was probably the better of the two finalists, though I reckon 'Ice Maiden' Debra would have given them both a run for their money. As for certain pundits proclaiming this year's candidates as the best ever, I doubt that they were watching the same show as myself! Still . . . there's always next year to look forward to when a new 'Junior Apprentice' section will be introduced for the first time - and S'rAlan may even be sucked into becoming Lord Sugar at the behest of an unelected and failed Prime Minister.
