Did watch this ... not quite sure Accylass whether I enjoyed it or not.

Found the direction a little old fashioned to be honest, and some of the dialogue had me in stitches ... I know, wasn't meant to be funny.

Things like, a large god reptile is running amok on the Thames embankment .. one of the heroines states "Ladies and Gentlemen .. don't panic". Ok not that funny when ya' tell it, but was not even done in a tongue in cheek sort of way.

Will try again next week though.

A corny script can ruin what could have been a good series.
I found that with the series Merlin.
It gives the impression that it has been 'dumbed down' so that us 'ignorant masses' will understand it - so indirectly your intelligence is insulted.

Or it could just be that the dummies miss the subtlety and humour, they suspect there is something extra, but rather than admit it's their lack of perception, they will claim it's an insult to their intelligence, (how can the script insult what isn't there?).

Problem is Less ... the actors don't quite deliver the lines with subtlety like they are supposed to be tongue in cheek. Good example of this is the James Bond movies... Sean Connery always got it right, which made you laugh; Roger Moore did not and you laughed for a different reason, 'cause he made it appear corny.

Perhaps a slight explanation of one of the confusions you're suffering,

Yes, the acting is typically British and Hammy I think that adds to the charm.

So far as the 'don't Panic', lady, she was supposedly brought in as a public relations expert to try and stop people from 'panicking', which as could be seen from that scene is impossible at times.

You could actually catch up with all the episodes, which will clear some confusion, ITV4 are showing the first two series at various times so it may clear up some of the questions you have, (worth it for all the dinosaurs you see).

Or

Just admit we aren't as good as the Americans at this kind of thing as I said here:-

(Though for some reason not even known to myself I called it Extinct rather than Primeval!). http://planetsmilies.net/confused-smiley-17429.gif
