HBO can't do much wrong in my eyes. The Sopranos, The Wire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Generation Kill, Deadwood.... the list of quality just goes on and on.

I picked up a few items in the HBO store in NY last December and no doubt I'll be in there when I'm over there again in a few months time.

I have to say I had never heard of HBO TM although I have heard of some of the programs you mention, but have just googled it and had a shufty. The thing is I don't watch much on line so probably that's why it was foreign to me

HBO is an American cable station Jaysay. In the States you pay extra on top of your usual cable fee for Home Box Office.... a bit like paying extra for Sky's premium channels. I believe they have about 38 million subscribers in the USA and are now owned by the enormous Time Warner group. HBO aren't shackled like syndicated US TV, which gives them the freedom to produce more challenging TV.

In the UK, HBO show the majority of their own produced shows through FX (Fox owned) initially, but then sometimes they find their way on to Channel 4.

Thanks for that TM, I know I've seen a few of the programs you mentioned on FX, in fact most of the best american stuff is shown on FX and Hallmark

You haven't heard swearing until you've watched Deadwood.....lol

I thought True Blood got off to a good start. Apparently it really kicks in over the next few episodes.
