Whilst websearching 'fake news' I found out that there is such a thing as a Video News Release
Video news release - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"A video news release (VNR) is a video segment made to look like a news report, but is instead created by a Google Page Ranking firm, advertising agency, marketing firm, corporation, or government agency. They are provided to television newsrooms to shape public opinion, promote commercial products and services, publicize individuals, or support other interests. News producers may air VNRs, in whole or in part, at their discretion or incorporate them into news reports if they contain information appropriate to a story or of interest to viewers."

For production purposes a legitimate news reporter is used, but actors are also employed.

This type of 'news' broadcast is used by governments to divert public opinion away from, or direct attention to, any topic, and by corporations to influence you to buy a product.


For example - frequent reports about terrorists being caught before they have acted could be propaganda to condition you to be fearful.
...which convinces the public of the need for their more surveillance (CCTV) and infringement of some civil liberties.

Another example involves 'diversion of your attention', when trivia is broadcast as 'news'.

Unfortunately, the 'news' you are seeing may be a VNR, and you wouldn't be able to tell.

So when watching the news it is sensible to be sceptical and ask yourself 'why are they broadcasting this?'

Could not agree more Margaret, but the same can be said of any Internet site.
It is no sup prise that the mass media has leanings to their owners, politicians etc, but so too have all the ' free' ' truth' websites.
Interesting video's, and also interesting that I cannot find anything to rebuke them, either by CNN or anyone else. It still of course does not mean others don't have any agenda's

I did this because I found a forum where many TV videos and news stills of the Olso events were being described as 'doctored'.

I have concluded that not only is news doctoring possible, it does happen.

The exaggeration of events results in a greater emotional response from the viewer.
What is to be gained by invoking such a response from a large audience? - for you to decide.

'Seeing is believing' can no longer apply to TV news.

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one here who doubts the 'news' we are fed.

To stop this 'War on Terror' we collectively need to stop being terrified/horrified, because it is quite possible that what we are shown didn't really happen.

In fact, the Al Jazeera pictures from Green Square were an elaborate and criminal hoax. The report had been prefabricated in a studio in Doha Qatar . This information had been passed onto Libyan intelligence and the Libyan people had already been warned about the qatari psyops a couple of days previously on Rayysse state television.
The Al Jazeera hoax was intended to create the impression that Tripoli had fallen so as:
(1) to break the Libyan resistance by creating panic and chaos in the Libyan captial.
(2) to provide cover for the massacres of civilians that would occur in the days following the declaration of rebel victory.

It looks as though much of what has been reported about this war has been engineered to justify it.

You forgot to post the part where the presenters apologise for showing the wrong link, on live TV where things always go wrong.

Then again, maybe you are right, there's always the countless youtube videos showing football matches where people are waving flags that have no relevance to the teams playing, you know the ones, Southampton FC flags being waved at a Brazil v Italy match..obviously faked and done on the back lot at Elstree, next to the fake moon landing lot

Using Photoshop to make actresses and models look unrealistically attractive is bad enough. Using it to make a part of the world that has enough problems as it is look even more apocalyptic? That's just disgraceful."

On a minor level the BBC did it during the Euro 2012 Cup - when Italy scored their first goal against Germany, the BBC showed a photo of a German woman crying, making out she was crying because the Germans conceeded a goal (the first of 2 which sent them out of the competition) a few days latter, only because the woman saw it, it came that she was crying during the national anthem at the start of the game and the BBC had shown it after the goal to mislead people!

CNN have been caught out red handed by the WWE

Vince McMahon who owns WWE(world wrestling entertainment) hates the mainstream media. In an interview with John Cena CNN edited it in such a way to discredit John Cena in a steroids discussion.

The interview was taken place inside a hotel room or something. WWE had John place a hidden camera and after the edited video was put on television, WWE put the unedited version online exposing CNN for the scum they are.

Just look at the photo of the alleged deceased that is shown in this photo, and compare it with the photo of the alive woman shown in my last post.

A video showing the family of 'Mr Parker' has emerged.

It clearly shows the family at the 'memorial service' attended by the president was a joyful occasion, and the little girl that was shot (allegedly) was alive.

In the past few weeks I have been reading a forum where members have been revealing 'real news' events as photoshop fakes. It is quite amazing how minor details in a photo and video can reveal them as fake. The fakers are human and fakes hurredly produced can show that. It does make me wonder how absolutely realistic photos and videos could be if they took their time.

'Seeing is believing' can no longer be a valid statement if you weren't there.

About a year ago parliament voted not to intervene against Assad in Syria, which wasn't what Cameron wanted.
Thank goodness - because the BBC hype we got served about chemical weapons attacks on civilians was propaganda in order to swing public opinion in favour of war against Assad.
