Glee.

Superficially it's as light and frothy as the water in a doll's bubble bath, but I think this programme is fantastic.

I only watched the first two episodes because it had such rave reviews in the Sunday Times, that I though I'd give it a gander, and now I'm hooked.

Underneath all the unbelievable storylines, it's really quite subversive, and I'm sure they used the most hated of swear words within the first five minutes of the opening show, so it can't be all that innocent a tale.

Besides, the musical numbers are joyously kitsch.

Anyone else watched it, and liked it?

subversive :- The term 'subversive', when used as an adjective, means serving or intending to subvert; in particular with an intention to oust or undermine an already established government. It is also extended to describe one who opposes a civil authority or government. When used as a noun it would refer to a person who is an advocate of, or who is considered as advocating subversion. In this sense of the term it is often used to describe a radical campaigner of a political revolution or a social one.

just thought i'd clear that one up :D

The meek shall inherit the Earth,
aided by the poor, downtrodden geeks.
Who'll rise up to take over the world.
Singing They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no',
whilst performing a soft shoe shuffle, and doing jazz hands.

Sue: And that gay terrorist went on to become the first gay president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.

Sue: So you like show tunes. It doesn't mean you're gay. It just means you're awful.

Sue: You know, for me trophies are like herpes. You can try to get rid of them but they just keep coming. Sue Sylvester has hourly flair ups of burning itchy highly contagious talent.

Sue: I spent large segments of each day picturing you choking on food, and I recently contacted an exotic animal dealer because I had a very satisfying dream that I once shoved your face into one of those pink-inflamed monkey butts.

Sue: Your hair looks like a briar patch. I keep expecting racist, animated Disney characters to pop up and start singing about living on the bayou.

Sue: Will I'm not going to do this. Even your breath stinks of mediocrity.

Sue: I thought I smelled cookies from the tears of elves weeping that live in your hair.

Sue: You may be two of the stupidest teens I've ever encountered - and that's saying something. I once taught a cheerleading seminar to Sarah Palin.

Sue: You two should be wetting yourselves with shame.

I :Banane41: Sue Sylvester. :D
