When I first got a computer someone said "Key in 'porn' on Google".
I couldn't believe it -I spent months researching it just to see how bad it was!

And being serious I'll bet there aren't many kids over eight who can't spell porn or whose computers do have a parent lock on. No need to wait 'till after midnight!

Heard of this thing called the Internet?

Or even making sure the product of your loins, is tucked up safely in bed, sound asleep, long before that time.

Some think it's okay for your kids to have acid.

But it's a no-no to seeing a naked arse.

As you say, there are many easier ways, sadly, for young people to access stronger porn, than is available on the television.

The post effective 'parental control', should be the actual parent themselves.

Most of us, may gamble a little, may drink alot, but never enough to make it a real problem.

If you and he can't control your problems that doesn't mean we all have that problem, live with it, leave him or sort it, it's up to you, it's your life don't dump it on the rest of us.

I think you might find that's what I was saying - because I find it uncomfortable because of my experiences doesn't mean it should be barred from everyone - we all have responsibility for our own behaviour.

Sounds like a case for sensible, tough parenting.

Make sure they don't have access to a television in their bedrooms.

Alternatively cut their drug allowance.

Or increase it.

So they'll be too out of it to have any interest in sex.

Sorted.

A lot of kids have TV's in their bedrooms, can't recall the statistics, but

it's a lot. Also these days most computers have a TV card - all you need

to do is plug in a TV USB/Software and you can watch TV on a lap top.

Also many set top boxes don't have parental controls, mine doesn't!

Oh I thought you were against drugs? You are so sarcastic?

I don't gamble mate! I never have it's a muggs game - see them all lined up in the bookies day after day losing all their money. I wonder how many crimes are committed to fuel gambling addictions? Never mind drugs such as crack and smack!

If it bothers you, don't let the kid have a TV in their bedroom or get one with parental controls. Seriously it's called parenting.

I believe some parents have enough self-confidence, and the parenting savvy, just to say 'No'.

No, to round the clock access to unmonitored media, via televisions and computers, being kept in bedrooms overnight.

Still, I suppose they make handy babysitters.

For those who struggle with child rearing, and have poor parenting skills.

Kiddies watching Babe Station should definitely have the recreational drugs given to them reduced.

How else will they learn?

Tough Love.

Which incidentally, is I believe, the name of a programme broadcast tonight, 12.10am on Television X.

Still, it is Half Term.

They'll be up all night anyway.

Tripping on the acid.

Bless 'em.

Sam, that's too simple a solution for some people.

Simple people.

Radical ideas.

It's too much to cope with.

That's not the point - the fact is the politicians have allowed easy access to softcore porn and gambling which are both highly addictive! When 10 years ago gambling or porn weren't allowed on terrestrial TV channels!

Also I don't think these cheap £30:00 digital boxes have parental controls mine doesn't!

You seem to have contradictory opinions when it comes to the difference between gambling and use of Class B drugs!
