I do not label him a paedophile, but for those of you who are wondering why some people do, it is due to -

"When the abuse at Haut de la Garenne in Jersey became public, Savile claimed not to have visited the school at Haut de la Garenne but The Sun newspaper then published an old photo of Savile at the school. Savile’s reaction was to slap an injunction on The Sun who had to withdraw the picture." .

Around the era that Jimmy Savile was popular, lots of male stars/pop stars/film stars....were told by their agents not to be seen with wives or girlfriends as this would alienate female fans.......who all liked to think they had a chance to date their idol(fools)!

Jimmy Savile sues the Sun!

Jimmy Savile turns to Fox Hayes for action against The Sun | News | The Lawyer

He sued the Sun back in 2008.

fact is Gary Glitter got away with it for years and it was only the fact he got caught with photos that he was nicked, but for computers maybe Glitter would not have been caught!

I don't know the truth and it maybe better it dies with him.
I felt so uncomfortable about what had been said I couldn't bring myself to say R I P in the thread opened on his death.

I saw the Louis Theroux interview when he was still alive and he came across a weird character. All his colleagues such as Dave Lee Travis and Tony Blackburn said "you didn't know the true Jimmy! he was good at keeping his private life private!"

In this interview Jimmy Savile tells how he claims he "tied people up in the basement of his club!" He didn't care what the law said!

Yes, well, being weird isn't an offence or perhaps you would have been locked up yourself?

You really are a class A fool.
Do you like stiring up trouble?
I am tired and bored of your very strange outlook on life Kestrelx and therefore will not answer anything you say. I may even start a ignore list with you on it.
You really need to get a life.

Think you have hit the nail on the head - great pity it wasn't physical on this prat.
Haven't yet decided whether this one is a moron or a cretin - perhaps a moronic cretin?

I'll bow to your wisdom Barrie I've always found you as a good judge of character, even for a plastic Manc:D

Could not agree more Barrie, we may banter over our clubs, but there is no malice intended. Shame others on here don't understand!

I started this thread as a vague question - not as a statement of fact.

Today I came across this article by accident... Jimmy Saville mediating a meeting between the Yorkshire Ripper and boxer Frank Bruno roughly 10 years after he was put in prison for his crimes.

Frank Bruno meets Yorkshire Ripper | Picture of boxing legend meeting the murderer Peter Sutcliffe at Broadmoor top security hospital | The Sun |News

I find this photo bloody creepy! Does someone who butchered 13 woman every really "Get better!?"

Do we every forgive people like the Yorkshire Ripper? But maybe Jim wanted to Fix it!!!:confused:

How could he shake his hand? I would have turned and walked away.

What I find even more strange is some people can use "swear words" on a family web site while others can't;)

Yuk! I find this very disturbing, I've had my own opinions about Jimmy Saville for a number of years, but I don't really want to go into them on a website because I couldn't substantiate them.
