I've always liked Taggart. But the best for me is the Sweeney. True to life and always full on. :D

Am in total agreement -nothing could ever beat Morse (except the original books which are superb to read). :)
Watched a sort of pre-quel, "Endeavour" featuring a young Morse's first case, when I was over recently -my friend had recorded it for me knowing how big a fan of Morse I am! I thought it was really good and loved the actor who played the young Morse -perfect in the role -scope there for a whole new series i should think...

Just had a quick "Google" to find the actor's name and it seems there will be more episodes of Endeavour with Shaun Evans in the leading role -definitely something to look forward to!

In the program the young Morse was on his todd a lot - it was very good, he played it well - very moody! he probably won't be with Lewis as cops don't work with the same people for 40 years! :)

No Lewis - think he'd probably have been too young to have been in the police then as he is a bit younger than Morse!

Max the pathologist was one of the characters shown though...:)

Scott and Bailey (TV Series) Police Station Location "Barclays Bank" 26 Silver Street, Bury, Lancashire BL9 0DJ | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Re: Vera

Yeah, they've managed to find the one street in Bury which hasn't been ruined by 60s planners or that Rock thing they have now. But I thought it was meant to be set in Oldham?

Plus, Morse will never meet Lewis in the new prequel. He met him for the first time in the first episode of the original Morse in 1987. But I hope his boss Chief Superintendent Strange turns up at some point.

I think James Grout is the best actor in it but I'm afraid he's getting on a bit (84) he was in Juliet Bravo

Yes he played misogynist Div. Supt. Albert Hallam. All 6 series box sets available in Lancashire libraries.
